I'd like to take a moment to remind you that I really need one of these before I die. I know everyone's probably already seen this, but I like to bring it up from time to time.

I know it is supposed to be cool because it is a v12 but frankly I'd rather have and espresso machine that just looked like an espresso machine.

How about this lil guy?

To be honest, I wouldn't use either the V12 or the Speedster as my actual espresso machine. I want to find a LaMarzocco GS/2 or similar and restomod it. These "fancy" ones would just be conversation pieces in my fantasy garage cafe.

Do you have an espresso machine?

Not currently, at home. I am waiting on one I pre-purchased to finish its development and should have it in the next several months. At work, we have some nice espresso equipment, which means I don't really need anything at home.

I had an el-cheapo espresso machine until it broke. Too many cafe lattes. :-\

Yeah, I have skipped the el-cheapo segment because I detest the coffee that comes out. Good for steaming milk, though. I am actually more a fan of the pour-over and French press style coffees, and espresso is just an occasional (twice-weekly) treat, and I'd rather have it prepared on professional equipment such as we have at work, or at a specialty coffee shop. Getting a machine for home, for me, is only a good idea if you're a coffee nerd (that's me) or if you plan on entertaining guests who enjoy espresso and espresso-based drinks.

Oops, I went all pretentious on you just now.

I'm not a coffee nerd but french press is my favorite way of having coffee prepared.

It's quite good, as well as being beautifully simple.
